Synopsis

Mobile applications (Apps), as immediate access software that performs specific tasks for various user requirements (ranging from entertainment to office tasks), are now seen as disruptive innovations with unforeseen consequences yet to be confirmed in various industries such as hospitality, restaurants, or transportation services, among others. It's interesting to highlight that the term "App" has gained such notable popularity that, in 2010, it was listed as the Word of the Year by the American Dialect Society.

There are Apps that reside on fixed devices (web Apps), available on various platforms of proprietary operating systems like Windows and Mac OS, as well as those that reside on mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones, both Android and iOS (mobile Apps).

This work is thus oriented towards a description and use of the main mobile Apps, aimed primarily at students, professionals, and/or academics interested in understanding the context and opportunities presented by Apps through the knowledge of consumer habits, uses, profiles, etc., both globally, internationally, and specifically in Mexico. Based on the above, it aims to inform about the necessary tools for planning the design and, above all, choosing a platform that allows configuring the required functions without using programming. The book concludes with a description of three portals that provide App templates, such as: AppMakr (now AppyPie), FileMaker (now Claris), and Adiante Apps as some of the most representative.

To achieve the above, this work is divided into: Chapter 1. The context of Apps Chapter 2. Apps and their uses Chapter 3. Developing and configuring an App Chapter 4. Practice with the main App templates
