Synopsis

This work explores sustainability as a civilizational project that brings together science, politics, economics, and ethics to confront the global crises of the 21st century. From the beginnings at the Stockholm Conference (1972) to the goals of the Paris Agreement and COP30 (2025), the text offers a rigorous narrative of how humanity evolved from environmental awareness to global action.

Each chapter represents a key link in this evolution: the theoretical and normative foundations (Brundtland, Rio, and OECD), international public policies, business and cultural innovation, and technological tools such as artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain applied to sustainable development.

The author presents a critical yet hopeful perspective: sustainability is not merely an environmental policy but a new way of organizing knowledge and global cooperation, where climate justice, resilience, and intergenerational equity define the horizon of 2050.

In short, this book weaves history, politics, and foresight to show that a sustainable future depends on humanity’s ability to turn crisis into innovation and innovation into collective hope.
